For my first official post, I'd like to start off by saying thank you to all you wonderful viewers and readers. We do this for you, so we couldn't be more thankful that you're here. Now, we're going to each be doing our own reviews of album releases and live shows, I'm going to start mine off with the one and only, Ed Sheeran. If you share the same love for the ginger Jesus that I do, then you are as excited as I am about his new album "X" or "Multiply". He kept us on our toes with the single releases of "One" and "Sing", with videos to boot. I could break this down track by track but I'll just do my favorites (otherwise I'd bore you half to death). With the beautiful melody and beginning line of "Oh I'm a Mess right now, inside out." 'I'm A Mess' has made my top list of favorite songs off this album (I love them all, let's get real). The raw emotion that's portrayed through the lyrics sends chills straight to your bones. The next one is near the end of the album but I've known it for a while and am so thrilled that he's put it on Multiply. "Even My Dad Does Sometimes" is one hell of an emotional song. The message is clear and beautiful. It faces suicide and depression in a way that's easy on the ears and heavy on the heart. "It's alright to die, if it's the only thing you haven't tried" is such an amazing message. There's so much to live for, some things we don't even know are coming. If you need a pick me up, listen to this one, it'll get you all emotional and snot faced. My absolute favorite though has to be 'Thinking Out Loud'. You get that good old Ed Sheeran acoustic love, but then it happens, epic electric guitar solo. The bluesy and classic quality to this song rings to the depths of my soul. It makes you want to just close your eyes, sip on some Arnold Palmer on a porch, and nod your head to the easy tune. There's so much to say about this album. Like the fact that he goes spoken word like on us in 'The Man' leaving you with a Mikill Pane-esque sound. Still staying true to his own sound though, the chorus is as melodic as ever. I don't think I have enough good things to say about 'X', the songs speak for themselves. With that said, get yourself a copy. It's available at all major retailers as well as online. iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, whatever your poison is, do yourself a favor and get this album! You won't be disappointed.
