| When first hearing about The Darkness announcing their tour, my mind wandered into their music video of "I Believe in a Thing Called Love." Maybe Taylor Swift should have attended their show with me. These guys may have grown older in the past few years but the sexiness in their songs and perfomance is still there! My gosh was I blown away! Lead singer Justin Hawkins had higher kicks in his tight striped spandex pants then I could ever attempt in my baggy shorts. This band didn't just perform by themselves, the entire crowd was by their side! As I walked around the venue I witnessed every single damn person singing along to The Darkness. show means A LOT! The Darkness are a British rock band from Lowestoft, Suffolk, formed in 1999. And so that night at the House of Blues, I was warped back to the late 90's which a dose I have been craving ever since. I give this show 5 stars! YUP, you heard me. Stage presence of the band was very alive! They pretty much had conversations with the crowd, we laughed, we joked, they even pulled two people on stage to have a dance off to determine who the winner was by the crowd. I honestly felt that I got to experience QUEEN as if Freddie Mercury was still alive and rocking it out on stage. The Darkness are the new era QUEEN and honestly in my opinion I feel these guys are so damn underrated! I had a few friends come out to the show who hadn't heard of The Darkness and now that is all they listen to on Pandora and Spotify instead of the garbage of songs we hear on the radio called "music". I can ramble on all you want, but it is only you that can make a decision for yourself. Attend The Darkness next time they are in your town. Go alone if you have no one to attend with you, it's one of those shows you will enjoy regardless and really appreciate their music. | SharFez |
