Musical, Cinematic and Other Inspirations

Alison Goldfrapp listened to Kate Bush, Prince, T. Rex, Donna Summer, and Iggy Pop and The Stooges as a teenager. In the early 1990s, while working in Belgium and travelling Europe, she discovered Serge Gainsbourg, 1970s Polish disco

They also draw inspiration from surrealism and nature, all of which appear in the band's album artwork, which Goldfrapp designs in collaboration with Big Active.

I love the whole theorie of Pandora Radio compared to normal radio we've been exposed to for years because now I don't have to hear "Timber" by Kesha and Pitbull anymore. Trust me, I saved myself before anyone could save me. With Pandora (for those who still don't know what it's about, we will continue to pray for you), you pick stations based on an artist and get a chance to listen to similar sounding artists, same way with if you pick a station based on genre. I am going to stop babbling now and let you enjoy this one. I am on a hunt this week to find good music with female vocalists.

Dr. Luke Being Dropped By Sony over Kesha Battle: Report

Sony Music is reportedly ending its working relationship with producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald due to his ongoing legal battle with Kesha. The immediate move would terminate the label’s relationship with Dr. Luke one year before his contract expires.

According to TheWrap, details of how Sony would end its deal with Dr. Luke ahead of schedule are unknown, but that the label is committed to freeing itself from the public-relations headache it is now undergoing, caused by Kesha’s fans and supporters decrying Sony's support of her alleged abuser. Artists like Lady Gaga, Adele and Ariana Grande have spoken out in support of the “TiK ToK” singer, who has claimed that Dr. Luke physically, verbally and sexually abused her during her time on his Kemosabe Records imprint on Sony.
Last month, a judge denied Kesha an injunction that would have allowed her to record music outside of her existing record deal with Dr. Luke and Sony.

“There is no contest. Kesha has no case in regards to her contract but they can’t afford the Adeles of the world out in the streets calling the label unsupportive,” a source close to the situation tells TheWrap. “The fact that this hasn’t already been taken care of with Luke is confusing, especially for people in the building.”
Reps for Sony did not immediately respond to Fuse’s request for comment. Another protest outside of Sony’s New York offices was set to take place on Friday (Mar. 11), in support of Kesha’s musical freedom.
