For Christmas I finally scored the new album by Jimmy Eat World, 'Integrity Blues'. The album was on my list to get and it is quite surprising that the band being my favorite band that I didn't purchase the album as soon as it came out. So after recieving it on Christmas you know the first thing I did was pop that cd into my car and listened to the whole album. The band decided to stick to their roots but along with adding a new sound to it. I love it when the bands decides to get into the best of both worlds. Without a new sound there is no room for growth. Jimmy Eat World have announced more upcoming tour dates in the US. Safe to say Texas is on the list! Since their latest album, Damaged, from 2013 I have been patiently awaiting for new music from Jimmy Eat World, which you all probably have figured out that they are my all time favorite band. Want to know my 3rd favorite all time band? Our Lady Peace has had me all ears when it comes to their music since the age of 12, right after I discovered Jimmy Eat World, my favorite local Dallas radio station 102.1 The Edge and Fuse TV. I remember music video to "Somewhere Out There" airing on Fuse TV a couple of times before I started hearing the song on 102.1 The Edge, and that's when I went to Best Buy and scored my very own copy of their newest album of the time, Gravity. Soon after that the band fully captured 100% of my attention and fast forward 15 years later, they are still my 3rd favorite. Something about lead singer, Raine Maida's voice, and is countertenor nasal falsetto singing makes me wanting more. He is a very talent man. This band is Canadian, did I mention this before? Well know you know. One of those underrated and unappreciated bands they are, give them a listen, you might love it, you might hate, find out now.

"Higher Devotion" by Jimmy Eat World --What Inspires Their Song Writing

For so many years of being an active fan of Jimmy Eat World, 16 years to be exact for those who were wondering, I have really done my research on the band and band members. Does that sound stalkerish? Well being the age of 11 and really looking up to the band, I have came across information that till this day I have yet to confirm (crossing my fingers for an interview with Jimmy Eat World soon!). Though reading some of lead singer, Jim Adkins' online journal and knowing all lyrics to all song I feel as if he has hatred towards a certain woman in his life. Now I know it isn't his mother. You must be reading and thinking, dang what on earth is this woman talking about. I don't know about you all, but whether it is my favorite artist or not, I like to really think about the lyrics I am listening to and can't help but start drifting into my thoughts of what inspired the song, what was the event that took place in this person's life that triggered them into writing this? I'd like to hear about what all takes place in your mind when really listening to a song. Jim Adkins has always seemed very mysterious musically and you better believe that when I do get a chance to interview this band that I will want to crack down deeper into what Jimmy Eat World is really about. Bleed American Album by Jimmy Eat World Celebrates 15 Years

My favorite album by my favorite band celebrates it's 15th birthday for Bleed American. Is it ironic that the album title is pretty relevant to current society? Here's a message from lead singer Jim Adkins.

"Bleed American, the album, just celebrated it's 15 year birthday.

I get asked by people sometimes what it's like to play these (older) songs in two-thousand-whatever it may be now. They seem to be expecting an answer from me like, ugh... not that again. But nothing. Nothing could be further from the truth of what it's like.

You can summon pretty much the history of recorded audio on-demand anytime you want from your phone these days. And seemingly exponentially more audio every week. With all of that competition for your listening time, the fact people built such lasting associations with these songs... is probably the highest compliment any musician can receive. And

some are still building. Which blows my mind. The more time passes, the easier it is to really take in, appreciate and be grateful for anyone who is still are around.

We were proud of what we made with Mark Trombino. But we had no idea how much the situation of our band would change once the music got out to the street.

So, thank you all for your interest in our songs new and old.

Found a link to our first TV spot ever. I remember I was totally sick that day and we were stressing out because right after filming we had to load out and get to El Ray for soundcheck. I also think I got a backstage intervention on me for using duct tape to hold my strap to my guitar and in the end, opted for the more professional look of no duct tape." -Jim Adkins

Pedro The Lion to David Bazan Band

was introduced to Pedro The Lion by Jimmy Eat World. The Pedro The Lion eventually transitioned into a new project/band in 2009 called David Bazan (Band). Album Winners Never Quit is my favorite album by the band because it has such a local indie sound which I really appreciate because you all know I am not a fan of mainstream music. Below I have two of my favorite songs from the album. PS: I love listening to this album on long drives, really puts things in a new perspective for me. Been obsessing over this band for the longest time. Jimmy Eat World have been around since the early 90's. Yep. They aren't just a one hit wonder who were featured on American Pie's movie soundtrack. These guys are so underrated that it really ticks me off. While you all are out there listening to garbage such as Meghan Trainor I will have my headphone on jamming out to REAL music.
