I am refraining from screaming like a fan girl at the moment! My favorite band, JIMMY EAT WORLD will be headlining Dallas' St. Patrick Day fiasco that is hosted yearly by Dallas Observer. I can already tell that everyone will enjoy taking a trip down memory lane when they perform "The Middle" and "Sweetness." Hoping to hear new stuff as well from their album Integrity Blues. Can't even explain the excitement of this new album by Jimmy Eat World. Though we don't see Texas at all on the touring schedule... looks like we will have to make a trip for this one! Click on the picture below to hear their newest song, "Sure and Certain." And now, a word from the very own lead singer himself, Jim Adkins.

Alternative rock/ post-grunge/ hard rock/ grunge Want to know my 3rd favorite all time band? Our Lady Peace has had me all ears when it comes to their music since the age of 12, right after I discovered Jimmy Eat World, my favorite local Dallas radio station 102.1 The Edge and Fuse TV. I remember music video to "Somewhere Out There" airing on Fuse TV a couple of times before I started hearing the song on 102.1 The Edge, and that's when I went to Best Buy and scored my very own copy of their newest album of the time, Gravity. Soon after that the band fully captured 100% of my attention and fast forward 15 years later, they are still my 3rd favorite. Something about lead singer, Raine Maida's voice, and is countertenor nasal falsetto singing makes me wanting more. He is a very talent man. This band is Canadian, did I mention this before? Well know you know. One of those underrated and unappreciated bands they are, give them a listen, you might love it, you might hate, find out now. | SharFez | PS: If you currently reside in Canada or surrounding areas, Our Lady Peace are now touring. Find out more HERE. Life really is beautiful, I am super excited for this festival which may I mention will be taking place in the wonderful Las Vegas. You can already tell I am totally TOTALLY looking forward to this just by seeing two of my favorite artist on the agenda for Sunday! Come on, you didn't know... Jimmy Eat World and Nothing But Thieves! Though I am not sure I will be attending Saturday's show to be present during Bassnectar's performance, but I will surely be there in spirit. Single Day GA & Single Day VIP tickets go on sale THURSDAY, August 11th at 10AM PT! (while supplies last: ticketf.ly/29kZbdX) DON'T MISS THIS YOU GUYS! | SharFez | Alternative rock/ Emo/ Power pop/ Pop punk For so many years of being an active fan of Jimmy Eat World, 16 years to be exact for those who were wondering, I have really done my research on the band and band members. Does that sound stalkerish? Well being the age of 11 and really looking up to the band, I have came across information that till this day I have yet to confirm (crossing my fingers for an interview with Jimmy Eat World soon!). Though reading some of lead singer, Jim Adkins' online journal and knowing all lyrics to all song I feel as if he has hatred towards a certain woman in his life. Now I know it isn't his mother. You must be reading and thinking, dang what on earth is this woman talking about. I don't know about you all, but whether it is my favorite artist or not, I like to really think about the lyrics I am listening to and can't help but start drifting into my thoughts of what inspired the song, what was the event that took place in this person's life that triggered them into writing this? I'd like to hear about what all takes place in your mind when really listening to a song. Jim Adkins has always seemed very mysterious musically and you better believe that when I do get a chance to interview this band that I will want to crack down deeper into what Jimmy Eat World is really about. For now, I'd like for you to stop just listening when we post music and visualize when hearing the song, like this one below and let your minds wander until you come to a conclusion of what this song and band is all about. | SharFez |
some are still building. Which blows my mind. The more time passes, the easier it is to really take in, appreciate and be grateful for anyone who is still are around. We were proud of what we made with Mark Trombino. But we had no idea how much the situation of our band would change once the music got out to the street. So, thank you all for your interest in our songs new and old. Found a link to our first TV spot ever. I remember I was totally sick that day and we were stressing out because right after filming we had to load out and get to El Ray for soundcheck. I also think I got a backstage intervention on me for using duct tape to hold my strap to my guitar and in the end, opted for the more professional look of no duct tape." -Jim Adkins You can purchase your copy of the CD and Vinyl at Best Buy. Going to listen to some JEW all day. Peace out! | SharFez |
Genre: Rock, Folk, Indie was introduced to Pedro The Lion by Jimmy Eat World. The Pedro The Lion eventually transitioned into a new project/band in 2009 called David Bazan (Band). Album Winners Never Quit is my favorite album by the band because it has such a local indie sound which I really appreciate because you all know I am not a fan of mainstream music. Below I have two of my favorite songs from the album. PS: I love listening to this album on long drives, really puts things in a new perspective for me. David Bazan (Band) are currently touring this summer so be sure to look out for them in a city near you. Let me know what you all think! | SharFez |
